The Beginner’s Guide To Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Everything you need to know before Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2 comes out tomorrow.

What is it?
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a Netflix original sitcom created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. It follows a young woman, Kimmy Schmidt, as she adjusts to life in New York after spending years locked up in a bunker with three other women in Indiana.

That- that doesn’t sound funny…
And yet it is. Ellie Kemper stars as the titular main character and as the title suggests, she is unbreakable. Her unfailing optimism throughout the episodes makes a change from the typically sarcastic, jaded comedy leads but somehow her personality just elevates the jokes.

Should I watch the first season before this one?
Really, it’s up to you but the first season is fantastic and it would be worth watching regardless. However, because this is a sitcom and you have the general idea of the premise, you could probably get away with starting the second season without watching the first.

Other than Ellie Kemper, who’s in the show?
There’s Tituss Burgess playing Titus Andromedon who is also Kimmy’s room-mate, Carol Kane as their landlady and also Jane Krakowski as Kimmy’s former employer (and kind of friend?)

I’m interested – when do the episodes show?
Dude, like I said, this a Netflix original series and just like most of them the entire season is available to stream in one go. In this case, Season 2 will be available on Netflix from tomorrow (April 15).

What can you tell me about the second season?
Well, I can talk to you about all of my theories and expectations or I can direct you to the trailer right here:
