Weekly Round-Up || Geek News

We’ve reached the end of the week and if you’re anything like me then your weekend has just been full of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Let’s look back on what else has been going on this week.

Best Piece of News

jungle book.pngObviously I want to talk about The Jungle Book – first of all, it came out on Friday and was an amazing work of film (full review here) but it was also revealed this week that Disney have got a sequel in this mix. Whilst it’s uncertain what the plot of the sequel will be, they are holding on to the same creative team which will hopefully ensure that the next one is just as extraordinary as this one.

Worst Piece of News

James Cameron announced this week that we, the lucky viewing public, can expect four sequels to 2009’s Avatar. Now, Avatar wasn’t a bad movie but it was very long and even that wouldn’t be an issue if that wasn’t the only detail that I remembered about the film. Originally there were three sequels planned but apparently there were just so many ideas that a fourth was required. Hopefully that means the story will evolve into something memorable.

Most Bizarre Piece of News

Sadly, nothing too crazy happened this week but of everything that we reported, the Men In Black/21 Jump Street crossover film receiving a title will have to be the winner. The title – MIB 23 – is pretty normal but the crossover itself is unbelievable. Is this really happening? It feels kind of like a prolonged joke but it now looks more and more like it’s going to happen.

And Everything Else…

  • Cumberbatch Steals Christmas
  • Deadpool’s Coming Back
  • Defenders Poach From Daredevil
  • Doctor Strange Is The Matrix Meets Inception
  • Channing Tatum Is A Kingsman
  • Spiderman’s Coming Home
  • Batman By Ben Affleck
  • Tessa Thompson Moves From Ringside To The Nine Realms
  • New Game Of Thrones Trailer

If those headlines weren’t quite the informative nuggets that you were looking for then you can find out more about all of those stories right here but until next time:

Have you seen The Jungle Book yet and what did you think? Will you be watching the next four Avatar films? Any potential plot ideas for MIB 23? Let me know in the comments.
