What’s New? || Geek News

Happy three days until Captain America: Civil War! If you didn’t know, we’re doing a special countdown all week with specific Captain America content – check it out. Anyway, this is what’s been happening recently.

New Doctor Who Companion

I love Doctor Who but I have to say that the episode that Clara left is exactly when I stopped watching the show. Now the BBC has revealed their next companion, Bill, who will be played by Pearl Mackie. I’m going to reserve judgement but first impressions for me are pretty good – she seems like a fun dork which is just what you want against Capaldi’s grizzly Doctor.

Marvel Pulls Inhumans From Release Schedule

Marvel have very quietly removed Inhumans from their release schedule. The film was the last scheduled on Marvel’s giant plan and was due to be released July 12, 2019 but has now disappeared without word from Marvel or Disney. This is particularly odd as the Marvel TV series, Agents of Shield, has been dealing with the topic of Inhumans for the last two seasons and I would have assumed that they were going to tie that into the film but apparently not.

New X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

The final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse came out yesterday and it’s amazing. Honestly, whilst I’ve wanted to see this film since I heard about it, none of the trailers had me particularly pumped until this one. Warning: there is a cameo at the end that some people considered a spoiler.

Disney Confirms A Ton Of Live-Action Films

After the success of Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle Book it makes sense that Disney are ready to roll out a bunch of live-action remakes and that is exactly what they’re doing. There are a lot so I’m just going to list them for you: The Jungle Book 2, Cruella, Jungle Cruise, Dumbo, A Wrinkle In Time, Maleficent 2, Mary Poppins 2, The Nutcracker And The Four Realms and a title-less Tinkerbell film.

That’s it today but if you want some more geeky loveliness this morning, why not take a look at all of the Captain America: Civil War content we have especially for this week.

Are you a fan of the Doctor’s new companion? Do you think the cameo at the end of the X-Men trailer is a spoiler? What Disney live-action remake are you most looking forward to? Let me know in the comments.
