It’s the end of the week which means that it’s time to review all the things that happened this week.
Best Piece of News
Disney are coming out with a ton of live-action films in the next few years. Their live-action remakes have done well in the last few years (Maleficent, The Jungle Book) so it isn’t surprising that the Mouse House want to really focus on them. I went through a full list of names earlier this week but the one that I’m feeling most excited for is the Mary Poppins sequel with Emily Blunt & Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Worst Piece of News
The filming of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure has indefinitely stopped as its star, Dylan O’Brien, was injured on set in March and has still not recovered enough to return to filming. I’m not particularly bummed about the film being pushed back but I do hope that Dylan O’Brien recovers soon as the accident sounded horrific – he suffered a “concussion, facial fracture and lacerations.”
Most Bizarre Piece of News
The hugely popular Netflix series, Sense8, is in the midst of filming their second season and one of the main cast member, Aml Ameen has chosen to leave the show. Insiders report that there was some conflict between him and one the Wachowski siblings (co-creators of the show) which worsened from the table read to actually filming the show. Aml Ameen’s character will be played by Toby Onwumere in the second season of the show.
