Happy Tuesday, I hope the week hasn’t worn you down yet but if it has… maybe this will make you feel a little bit better.
New The BFG Trailer
After the first full trailer for The BFG came out, I was feeling a bit lukewarm about the whole film. This new trailer has raised the level of anticipation and it’s looking like a movie worthy of Steven Spielberg. We get to see a bit more of the giants and get more of a feel for the tone of the film. Check it out below:
Toby Jones To Star As Sherlock Villain
Filming for season 4 of BBC’s Sherlock is well under way and it has been revealed that Toby Jones (Captain America, The Hunger Games) will be appearing as a villain in the second episode of the show. I can’t tell you much more than that because… it’s Sherlock – they’re even more secretive than Marvel but the season is due to hit screens sometime in 2017 (hopefully early).
Petition To Move Agent Carter To Netflix
Sadly, Agent Carter was cancelled last week but that hasn’t deterred the fans of the show. A petition was started to move the show to Netflix and currently has almost 60, 000 signatures. Will this have any impact on the future of the Agent Carter? Who knows, but it’s great to see fans unite like this. If you wanted to help out, you can sign the petition right here.
Mr Robot Season 2 Trailer
Nowhere near enough people watched the first season of Mr. Robot but that hasn’t stopped them from making what looks like an amazing follow-up. This trailer is intense and fantastic – if you haven’t watched the show then go do that, watch all of the episodes, and then come back here and you can freak about this awesome trailer.
Official Description of Powerless
The DC comics show, Powerless, was picked up this week and now NBC have released an official description of the show:
In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens (“Grease Live,” “High School Musical”) plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right … even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.
The cast includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi and Christina Kirk.
Ben Queen serves as writer and executive producer. Director Michael Patrick Jann (pilot) also executive produces. “Powerless” is produced by Warner Bros. Television and based on the characters from DC Comics.
That’s everything today but as usual, there will be more news on Thursday. Until then:
Are you interested in The BFG? Did you watch the first season of Mr. Robot? Powerless: yay or nay? Let me know in the comments.
