Weekly Round-Up || Geek News

Happy Sunday everybody, it’s been an interesting week so far: teasers, trailers, casting news. There’s a lot to talk about so let’s just get into it.

Best Piece Of News

This week we got the first trailer for the second season of Mr. Robot. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: nowhere near enough people have watched the first season of this show. It’s intelligent, intense and entirely brilliant so if you haven’t watched it, give it a try. If you have watched it, I hope that this season 2 trailer looks just as amazing to you as it does to me.

Worst Piece Of News

For once we didn’t get any terrible news this week so I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Toby Jones has been cast as a villain in Season 4 of Sherlock. Toby Jones is fantastic, Sherlock is fantastic, so what’s the cloud to this gleaming silver lining? We still have no air date for the season. The BBC are being typically tight-lipped about the whole affair and simply saying that it will hit screens in 2017. Just some time in 2017…

Most Bizarre Piece Of News

X-Men: Apocalypse released another featurette this week to promote their movie but it was very different to what you normally see. We see the character Jubilee lead the most 80’s advert for Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters and it’s brilliant.

And Everything Else…

  • New The BFG Trailer
  • Petition To Move Agent Carter
  • Description Of Powerless
  • Star Trek Teaser
  • Star Trek Trailer
  • Thor 3 Casting
  • Cap Hits $1 Billion

If those headlines weren’t quite the informative nuggets that you were looking for then you can find out more about all of those stories right here but until next time:

Have you seen Mr. Robot season 1? When do you think Sherlock will air? Will you be calling up Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters? Let me know in the comments.
