Good morning: it’s the beginning of the weekend and as though that wasn’t good enough, I have some awesome things to share with you so let’s just dive right into it.
New Mr. Robot Video
It’s no secret that I am obsessed with Mr. Robot but for once I’m not going to implore you all to go out and watch the first season (I’m just assuming that you’ve done that now – if not just to shut me up). This week, The Hollywood Reporter released an exclusive video that served as part-trailer, part-BTS of the second season. The first season was so brilliantly unique because it went in strange directions that other shows would be afraid to and it looks like they’re going to push that envelope even further with this new season. You can watch the full video here.
Transformers: The Last Knight Begins Filming In Cuba
It’s the film franchise that won’t die – no matter how much you may want it to: the fifth movie in Michael Bay’s Transformers series began filming in Cuba this week. We don’t know much about the film in regards to plot (not that there is usually much of a plot) but Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel will be returning to reprise their previous roles.
6 Power Rangers Sequels
Lionsgate demonstrated that they have a great deal more faith in their upcoming Power Rangers movie than the general public when their CEO, Jon Feltheimer, announced that they could make as many as seven films. Based on what I’ve seen so far I can’t even imagine the first one having significant box office success but we can be optimistic. The CEO of the company knows a lot more about the direction and production of the film so maybe it will be a sneaky hit – God knows Lionsgate need a win after this year’s Gods of Egypt and The Divergent Series: Allegiant.
The Little Prince Gets Trailer & Release Date
A few months ago we wrote about Netflix picking up the rights to the animated feature, The Little Prince, after Paramount dropped it. Earlier this week Netflix released their own trailer for the movie and revealed that it would be available to stream from August 5th of this year. It looks incredibly sweet and I am entirely in love with the art style. You can watch the full trailer below:
That’s everything for this week but if you missed anything at all then come back tomorrow for a round-up of the week’s news. Also, check out why exactly we think Black Panther could be Marvel’s best movie yet. Anyway, until next time:
Are you sick of me gushing over Mr. Robot yet? How hopeful are you in regards to the Power Rangers film? Are you still following the Transformers series? Let me know in the comments.
