What’s New? || Geek News

Happy Tuesday, I hope you had a great weekend. I have so many things to share with you so let’s jump right into it.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Casting

Jeff Bridges revealed that he has been cast in the sequel to Kingsman – Kingsman: The Golden Circle. We don’t yet know who Bridges will be playing but as this film takes us to a similar spy agency in the US it is very possible that Bridges could be taking up the role of the head of this spy agency.

Sam Mendes Will Not Direct The Next James Bond

The director of the last two James Bond films will not be making another one. Sam Mendes re-vamped the James Bond franchise and made it something worth watching for people who weren’t initially fans of the movies. News that he will not return comes after Daniel Craig announced that he would not be reprising the role of 007. So, who is our next James Bond and who will direct him? We don’t yet know but Mendes says:

“I can guarantee whatever happens with it, it will not be what you expect.”

Alice: Through The Looking Glass Flops At Box Office

If you went to the cinema this weekend you probably saw X-Men: Apocalypse or maybe Warcraft. Or maybe you were one of the few people who went out and saw Alice: Through The Looking Glass. The Disney sequel to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland flopped at the box office making only $28.1 million compared to original projections of $70 million.

The Rock Joins The Superhero Club

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson announced that he has signed on to play Doc Savage, a superhero that is cited as the inspiration for Superman. Iron Man 3 director, Shane Black, is also involved with the project and will be directing. The Rock, Shane Black: this has to be good, right?

That’s everything for today but come back on Thursday for even more news. Until then:

What do you think about Jeff Bridges in Kingsman 2? Are you planning on seeing Alice: Through The Looking Glass? Is The Rock taking on a superhero role everything that you’ve ever wished for? Let me know in the comments.
