Wait, What Happened?|| Geek News

The fall TV season is well underway now and that in itself is plenty to be excited about. However there’s also plenty of news that’s occurred in the last couple of days; so much that it might leave you asking, wait, what happened? Well, don’t worry – I’ve got you covered.

Guy Ritchie To Direct Aladdin

I didn’t even know that Aladdin was one of the films that they were adapting but when I heard, I was beyond excited. What’s more, Guy Ritchie – Sherlock Holmes, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. – is currently in talks to direct.

Bad Moms Spin-Off In Development

Image result for bad momsThis summer’s Bad Moms is getting a male spin-off called… Bad Dads. Well, it get’s to the point. Bad Moms did well at the box office and apparently the studio think that that success will translate well with a male cast. What’s most interesting about this is that ever since this was announced, I haven’t heard any of the typical fanboy protests that accompany a male film being adapted with a female cast. How odd.

Shailene Woodley Arrested

Fortunately she was live-streaming the protest on Facebook. Really, I just wanted to talk about this because it’s such a great example of celebrity using their fame for good. The North Dakota access pipeline had previously drawn protests but people seemed to forget about it in this 24 hour news cycle. Woodley’s involvement helped to bring the spotlight back to an important world issue.

Do you like Disney’s live-action adaptations? How do you feel about a Bad Moms spin-off? Were you aware of the North Dakota access pipeline? Let me know in the comments.
